FORMER ST. LOUISAN/TORONTO RAPTORS CENTER LOREN WOODS
HOSTING FREE SUMMER BASKETBALL CLINIC

NBA player is a Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School graduate

St. Louis - May 23, 2006 - Toronto Raptors Center Loren Woods will host a free basketball clinic for boys and girls ages 10 through 14 on Saturday, June 10 at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School.

"Today more than ever, education is critical," said Woods, a 1996 graduate of Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School. Woods also is establishing Lo and Behold, a charitable foundation conceived from his nickname Lo Lo, to help St. Louis students continue their education by attending college in Missouri.

“This basketball clinic is a chance for the youth of St. Louis to come out and enjoy learning the fundamentals of basketball,” Woods said.

The free clinic will be held at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, 701 N. Spring Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Woods himself will teach fundamental basketball skills, sportsmanship and team concepts. The NBA player will assist the young participants in learning ball handling, triple threat, post moves, rebounding, court spacing, passing, defensive keys, team offense and defense.

Woods will take the youth through the same stretching and warm-up exercises that he does with the Raptors. After the participants are warmed up and stretched out, he'll lead them through a variety of rotations focusing on the fundamentals of the game – everything from balance and agility to dribbling and defense. After lunch, full court games will begin so the students can put their new and improved skills into action.

For more information or to sign up for the clinic, contact Willie Ash at 314. 446. 5513.
