“Excellence in Masonry Award” for Cardinal Ritter College Prep Building
ST. LOUIS, MO – The new Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School building has been named a “2006 Excellence in Masonry Award” winner for Merit in Design in the Commercial / Institutional / Industrial category.
The “Excellence in Masonry Award” represents the best-of-the-best in masonry construction in the St. Louis area. This triennial award features two divisions, design and craftsmanship. The winning projects were completed between 2003 and 2005. The winners were announced October 14 at an awards banquet at the America’s Center.
The $30 million, 83,000-square-foot Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School, located in Grand Center, was complete in the spring of 2003.
Cardinal Ritter Prep has earned nationwide attention and recognition, including being named an Exemplary School by the U.S. Department of Education in 1984. The school provides a college prep education centered on academics, spiritual values and leadership. Although they are a Catholic high school, nearly 70 percent of the students are not Catholic but instead represent a wide variety of faiths.
Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School has educated students from the entire St. Louis region for more than 25 years and opened a new, state-of-the-art school in Grand Center in 2003. This year, as in years past, all Cardinal Ritter Prep seniors graduated and moved on to college.
