Guidelines

For Dances & Other Special Events

Semi-Formal Dress

Women

  •   Semi-formal, this means a cocktail-length (knee-length) or long dress. You have to wear sheer hosiery. Leave the business pumps at home and put on the dressy pumps. You can accessorize with tasteful jewelry.

    • Men

  • Men wear suits or just a shirt and tie to semi-formal events. The suit should be a good-quality dark suit with a dark tie and white shirt. You should wear dark socks and black shoes.

    This is a school sponsored event for Ritter students and their potential guest.  All school rules and student expectations apply. Cardinal Ritter College Prep and the sponsors of this event reserve the right without refund, to request the immediate removal from and refuse admission to anyone.


    Guest Guidelines:

    1. Each Ritter student is allowed one (1) guest.
    2. No guest will be admitted without a completed "Guest Request Form".
    3. Guest must be in school or currently employed.
    4. Guest must present a current/valid picture ID at the time of admission (i. e. school ID; state ID; driver license; or employee ID)
    5. No guest over the age of 21.
    6. Guest must arrive and depart with the Ritter student who invited them to the event.  If a guest is asked to leave for inappropriate behavior, the Ritter student who invited them must also leave.

    The Ritter student is responsible for informing their guest of these guidelines and school rules.

    Additional Dance Rules:

    1. There are no in and out privileges.  Once you enter the building, you must stay in the building until you depart for the evening. 
    2. Chaperons will monitor compliance of the dress code.  Individuals who fail to comply with dress code will not be admitted or will be asked to leave.
    3. CRCP is a Catholic/Christian school and not a night club! Dancing that simulates sexual activity is not appropriate. Slam and any other sort of dancing in which people violently slam into each other is also prohibited.
    4. If you are having someone pick you up make sure they know to pick you up by 10:30 PM.
    5. The dance is in the gym:
      1. No food or drink in the gym.
      2. No gum in the building.
      3. No stiletto heels in the gym.  They will scar, pit, and cause damage to the floor.  If you are planning on wearing high-heels, we will have a shoe/coat check.   Make sure you bring "footies" or socks to dance in.
    6. There will be parent and other adult chaperones.  Honor any request they make and be respectful at all times.
    7. For security purposes bags and purses will be checked upon entering the building.  Metal

    detecting wands will also be used.

    Dress Code:

    1. No jeans, denim, or of any kind: blue/black/jean style pant with rivets, no jean dresses or skirts either.
    2. No sweats or athletic wear of any kind including jerseys.
    3. No ball caps, bandanas, scarves, do-rags, hats.
    4. No tennis shoes or belt chains
    5. No t-shirts of any sort
    6. No bare midriffs, extreme cleavage or dresses/tops with the back out.  No low rise pants and no mini shorts.  The length on hems of skirts/dresses/shorts must be the same length as the regular school uniform skirt.  No slits above the knee.
    7. No bibs, overalls or coveralls.
