1. Q. Are Christian Service Hours really
important and count for anything?
A. Yes, not only are they a
CRCP school requirement for graduation requirement of
every
high schools.
2. Q. How do I get a form for the Service
Program?
A. The forms are downloaded from our
webpage.
3. Q. How do completed forms get to the
Service program coordinator?
A. The completed forms can be faxed
(314-446-5570) or mailed (701 N. Spring), 63108) directly to the attention of
the student’s Theology Teacher.
4. Q. What happens if the agency doesn’t want
to fax the form or does not have
a fax machine?
A. The supervisor has the option of mailing
the forms directly to the Coordinators.
Formatted, authenticated, electronic
mail from the duly authorized supervisor(s) is acceptable.
5. Q. Where can I find the list of approved
agencies?
A. The approved agencies will be listed on
the website and edited as more agencies become approved. There will also be
lists posted on bulletin boards, in classrooms and in the main office.
6. Q. What if I find an agency that is not on
the list?
A. That agency must first submit a request
to be included in our program. The Volunteer Coordinator of that agency must
call, fax, or mail a request to (the Christian Service Team) along with an
explanation of service to the needy that would be performed by the volunteers.
The agency will be contacted with in two weeks as to whether or not it meets
the requirements for our program.
7. Q. Can I pick any place I want to?
A. You may choose from the list of approved
agencies provided by Ritter. However, extraordinary projects/programs need to
be approved by the Christian Service Team.
8. Q. What kinds of things can I do?
A. You may be involved in projects from an
approved agency that allow you to
provide
service oriented to the Christian Spirit of giving to the physically,
mentally, and/or financially poor, needy, helpless, and
illiterate. However, you
are not limited to those areas of Christian service. Your
choice may have you
involved in a program
or project that contributes to building the
through education, the maintenance and improvement of the
quality of human
life, inspiring hope, and assisting those who are directly
involved in these
endeavors.
9. Q. What happens to my incomplete hours from
past years if I have not kept up with
my requirements?
A.
All “past-due” hours are added to what is required at
the start of the new school
Year. These delinquent service hours are added to
what is due for those students
Involved.
10. Q. What happened to all the hours I have
already completed?
A. This program is just a continuation of
what has already been done. All required
hours that have been completed and reported have been
recorded.
11. Q. Can I finish my service hours in the
summer?
A. Yes
12. Q. Can I finish all my required hours for
graduation before my senior year?
A. Yes
13. Q. If the completion of Service Hours is a
semester notation of Complete /
Incomplete
on my report card, why do they have to be finished before the end
of
the semester?
A. 1. Because
time must be given to recording and verifying the information;
2. Teachers may require reflection papers,
research activities, and/or projects
to be turned in as semester requirements related to service
hour projects.
14. Q. What awards are given for completed
service hours?
A. Completing service hours beyond
what is required allows the student to be
eligible for:

May Award (given to a senior by the Archdiocese of

Shocklee Award (given to a senior by
CRCP)
3. Blessed
Mother Teresa Award (for outstanding accomplishment, given to students at any
grade level each year.)
15. Q. How are my Service Hours helpful when I
apply to college or for a job?
A. 1. There
are colleges who have scholarship dollars available for students
who have completed Community service hours;
2.
There are sororities and fraternities who also assist
students who can prove they have been involved in service to the community;
3.
Your character and integrity are enhanced by
recognizing and serving those who are in need in our community.
